Black River Vacation Packages

All staff were professional, courteous and friendly. They all went out of their way to grant your requests. The ambience is very nice. The electrical outlets on the patio didn't always work. Had to be creative in getting plugs to stay in. They also need to upgrade from 110v to 220v. Just kidding, but they should have something for travelers from Europe. Internet service was pretty good. Everyone in my group were pleased and would return. The tour setup for us by the manager was fun!!!! Good people, fantastic accommodations. Recommended...

The food at the buffet was not great. Undercooked rice, warm fresh fruit and veg; very unappetizing. There was also nowhere to refill water bottles with filtered water, so if you didn’t want to buy more water/request it, you were stuck with tap water from the pool bar which tastes heavily chlorinated. The fridge in the room never got cold, either. We ordered room service one day and kept dessert in the fridge, but after it sitting basically at room temp for the night, I didn’t feel comfortable risking it. We were in building 4, the one closest to the lobby during our stay and my only complaint there comes from the loud events/parties they have in front of the lobby on the adults side. On our first night there all I wanted to do was go to bed early but I was kept awake until the music calmed down around 10 pm. On the last day of our stay our shower was acting weird as well. Also, was not a fan of the tour guide roping us into sitting through a presentation of their “Privilege” suite by saying we would get a free gift. The people showing you the suite and selling the vacation packages were VERY pushy as well. It’s worth noting that the beach on the adults only side is incredibly rocky, to the point where I couldn’t even walk out far enough to swim because of how sharp the coral/rocks were. Lastly, one of the older towel hut ladies by the pool called my husband “Not bright” when he forgot our room number to get towels. Made us uncomfortable getting towels later that day.
